Frequently asked questions...

After a animal is presumed deceased, what is the appropriate timeframe for locating it utilizing thermal imaging technology?

Ambient tempeture and other weather factors can play a big role in the sucessful recovery of downed big game.  Generally speaking it's best to start the search within 36 hours.  It is important to note that as of now, the use of drones for game searching and recovery is prohibited in Minnesota. I remain hopeful that this regulation will be amended in the near future.

How can you determine if the animal in question belongs to me?

My thermal drone is equipped with a zoom capability exceeding 100x. This advanced functionality allows for detailed inspections from an altitude of 400 feet.

Can you see through dense tree foliage/canopy and fog?

Dense green leaf cover undoubtedly presents challenges in observing the forest floor. Although identifying thermal signatures remains feasible in such environments, the task becomes markedly more arduous and may require additional time.

Is nighttime flight possible?

The thermal capabilities of my drone enable the precise identification of thermal signatures, even in complete darkness. Additionally, it is equipped with a low-light camera featuring a high-intensity infrared (IR) emitter. For further illumination, a dual LED spot light is available, if required. Moreover, this drone is fully compliant with FAA regulations, and has strobe lights that are visible from a distance of three statute miles and incorporating a remote identification system.

Can you locate animals in fields with crops?

Searching wooded acreage can present challenges; however, croplands generally offer a more straightforward and manageable environment for searching.

What type of weather conditions can you fly in?

My drone is operable in diverse weather conditions, including rain, snow, and wind gusts of up to 40 mph. Nevertheless, all missions are conducted at the my discretion, particularly when faced with severe weather conditions.

Do you have a license?

I hold a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which authorizes me to conduct commercial drone operations for Unmanned Aircraft Systems weighing up to 55 pounds.

What service area's are you available for and what is the pricing?

I am located in the southeastern Minnesota region, specifically in Rochester; however, I am willing to travel to adjacent states as needed. Pricing is contingent upon the distance and time associated with travel, as well as the specific services rendered. It is important to note that as of now, the use of drones for game searching and recovery is prohibited in Minnesota. I remain hopeful that this regulation will be amended in the near future.

What can I expect from you when paying for your service?

My primary objective is to facilitate the resolution of my clients’ concerns and assist them in recovering lost assets, in addition to delivering precise census data. Each client can anticipate a high level of professionalism and dedicated service. I am committed to exerting my utmost efforts in every endeavor to support you. Although I cannot assure a successful recovery in every instance, I can guarantee that I will apply my full dedication to each mission undertaken.

Is the utilization of drones for deer search/recovery operations legal in my state?

As of now, the use of drones for search and recovery operations is prohibited in Minnesota. It is advisable to consult the regulations of your respective state for any applicable ordinances beyond those established in Minnesota.
